Is Toyota and Lexus dealer pricing the best I can get?
Not even close. Imagine you need a new control arm for your Lexus LS460. You call or walk into a dealer, give them your VIN number and they check on pricing. Your mouth drops to the floor in shock when they tell you it’s $700. Most of the time people simply accept this fate and pay the dealership their exorbitant fees. My goal is to educate and help Lexus and Toyota owners that there are better deals out there.
Can I buy original factory parts at the parts store down the road?
No. Parts from auto store chains are similar to the ones you can buy yourself from Amazon or Ebay. These parts are often replicated with much cheaper materials and you will end up replacing these parts and you’re back to square one again. Parts stores sometimes offer “lifetime warranties”, but who wants to remove an alternator every year and take it back to the parts store for a new one. Your time is valuable and that’s no way to live. What if your car breaks down on a road trip? The towing and mechanic fees to fix it right will far exceed just buying original parts to begin with
Will dealerships give wholesale discounts or coupon codes?
Yes and no. Some dealerships will give out “internet pricing” or “ebay pricing” to make it seem like you are getting a good deal. Compared to MSRP or dealer list pricing it may seem like you are beating them at their own game. Unfortunately you are closer to the truth, but so far away.

Ah. Long story short, those parts are generally counterfeit. If it’s too good to be true then it is. Airflow sensors are not $15 no matter how convincing the packaging looks. Individuals and companies have perfected the color, graphics, and even font of original parts. These part all originate from overseas (countries other than Japan) and are poorly made copies of the authentic parts.
